Auckland Electric Vehicles Trial Bylaw

The NZ Transport Agency is looking at the viability of allowing electric vehicles access to special vehicle lanes on the State highway network. This work supports the Government’s package to encourage the uptake of electric vehicles in New Zealand, and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

An Auckland Electric Vehicles Trial Bylaw 2017 has been proposed, which will enable a two week pilot of electric vehicles in five specified priority bypass lanes from 6 to 20 March 2017, after which it will be revoked.

We welcome your input and views on the proposed bylaw.  Submissions close at 5pm on 13 January 2017.
