2018 Aotearoa Bike Challenge kicks off this Thursday

|

The Aotearoa Bike Challenge starts this Thursday 1 February 2018, with more than 8,000 New Zealanders from over 1,200 organisations gearing up to take part.

Returning for its second year, the month-long workplace challenge encourages New Zealanders to make everyday trips by bike and enjoy some friendly workplace competition. Just one 10-minute ride is enough to get involved. Participants will be supported throughout the month with tailored guidance and tips and great prizes on offer including a new e-bike.

Last year, challenge participants made more than 150,000 trips by bike, cycling nearly 2 million kilometres. This year, the NZ Transport Agency wants to get New Zealanders travelling even further.

The challenge is a great way for your readers to experience the joy and convenience of riding a bike, and the benefits it can have for their health and wellbeing.

It’s not too late to sign up. Registrations will remain open until 28 February. To find out more about the challenge visit the Aotearoa Bike Challenge website at https://www.lovetoride.net(external link).
