Final surfacing works on Hamilton's Rifle Range Roadroundabout

|

The NZ Transport Agency is taking advantage of the good weather predicted for this coming Sunday by bringing forward the final surfacing of the recently constructed Rifle Range Road roundabout.

The works will require the temporary off-peak closure of the Avalon Drive Bypass, between the Rotokauri and Rifle Range Road roundabouts. The Lincoln Street ends of both Norton and Rifle Range Roads will also be closed for the duration of the works.

Final surfacing is scheduled to begin at 10am on Sunday November 9, and will continue overnight. The Avalon Drive Bypass and Norton and Rifle Range Road approaches to the Rifle Range roundabout will reopen at 6am Monday 10 November and will remain open all day Monday until 6.30pm. Works, and road closures, will resume again at 6.30pm Monday and will continue overnight until 6am Tuesday 11 November.

During the works a 30km/h speed restriction will be in place through the Rifle Range roundabout and Lincoln Street traffic will be directed through the roundabout with cones. Lincoln Street traffic will still be able to access Rifle Range Road and Railside Place by turning off Lincoln Street into Edgar Street (opposite Palmers) and then turning right into Pukeko Street.

NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) Regional Manager Kaye Clark acknowledges the short notice but says the expected good weather will enable the works to be completed with minimal disruption to traffic.
