Pickering Road re-opening and Hautapu Road closure to SH1

|

The NZ Transport Agency wishes to advise motorists and local residents of State Highway 1 (SH1) access changes taking effect this week, as construction of the Cambridge Section of the Waikato Expressway continues.

Travellers should expect minor delays on the night of Thursday August 28, when stop go/ traffic will be in operation to allow contractors to paint the new access from SH1 into Pickering Road.

Access to SH1 from Pickering Road will be restored on August 29 and the temporary access to SH1 currently provided for residents via Strawberry Fields Lane (previously known as Ambreed Access Road) will be permanently closed to SH1.

Permanent closure of the Hautapu Road access to SH1 will take effect from Monday 8 September 2014, in order to open up further construction areas along SH1. Construction of a new cycleway connection will also begin at the same time, to link Hautapu Road with the new Strawberry Fields Road.
