Guardrail installation at three locations on SH16 and Kahikatea Flat Road intersection.A new drainage system is being installed as well as kerbing to reduce the impact of ongoing flooding to the intersection of SH16 and Kahikatea Flat Road south of Kaukapakapa.

The project has been planned to coincide with the extension of the guardrails at 3 locations along SH16 and on the corner of Kahikatea Flat Road, to improve safety and help prevent vehicles leaving the road.

The guardrail extension work is already under way, while the drainage improvements are due to begin by the end of this week (30 October).

Both projects are expected to be completed by the end of November.

There will be single lane closures and manual traffic control to minimise disruption and delays.

The Transport Agency apologises for any inconvenience and thanks motorists for their patience during these works.
