A temporary SH20 off-ramp to Puhinui Road will open at 5am on Monday 2 February, as part of construction on the NZ Transport Agency SH20-1 Manukau Extension project.

A temporary SH20 off-ramp to Puhinui Road will open at 5am on Monday 2 February, as part of construction on the NZ Transport Agency’s SH20-1 Manukau Extension project.

The temporary ramp begins 200 metres south of the current off-ramp so motorists will need to shift into the left lane earlier to exit the motorway. The temporary ramp replaces the existing off-ramp from SH20 Roscommon Road to Puhinui Road and will stay in place for the rest of the project.

The final touches will be put on the temporary ramp between 9.30pm Sunday and 5am Monday morning. The current on-ramp will remain open while this work is completed. Once the temporary on-ramp opens it will close.

The new ramp is the first of several changes happening across the project in the coming months to enable new construction areas to be established south and east of Puhinui Road Interchange. Construction also continues to connect the new extension to the existing Southwestern Motorway.

In the event of bad weather the work will take place on the next suitable night. For more information on the project phone 0800 SH20 – 2 – 1 (0800 742 021) or visit www.nzta.govt.nz/manukauextension(external link).
