Some information within the 2018–21 NLTP Investment Assessment Framework pages may currently be out of date. We are in the process of updating the Planning and Investment Knowledge Base to reflect the new draft Investment Assessment Framework (IAF) that has been developed for the 2018–21 National Land Transport Programme (NLTP). This work will be completed by mid-May 2018. The draft IAF is currently available for feedback until 18 May, and will be finalised by 30 June 2018.

Introduction

The 2018-21 National Land Transport Programme sees the introduction of a programming support assessment for improvement activities.

Purpose and definition

Programming support provides a signal around the urgency to address the issues identified in the strategic case to assist programming of improvements to address the issues.

Is the identified strategic case significant in relation to GPS timeframes, i.e. a significant issue/opportunity exists and has significant impacts on transport system users within 3, 10, or 10+ years ?

Programming support is guided by the Long Term Strategic View that contains the currently known nationally significant transport issues and the time horizon of when these issues impact on users.
