Introduction

Work category 540 provides for rapid transit infrastructure activities on largely dedicated key corridors in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, enabling a substantial increase in the numbers of people accessing social and economic opportunities and providing for transit-oriented development. 

Qualifying activities

 

  • Examples of qualifying activities

    Examples of qualifying activities include, but may not be limited to:

    • construction of the right-of-way
    • property purchase
    • consenting and other legislative compliance costs
    • purchase of rolling stock
    • associated facilities such as:
      •  platforms, stations, lighting
      • signalling
      • pedestrian access
    • stabling and maintenance facilities
    • provision of traction infrastructure.

Funding assistance rate

The usual funding assistance rate is:

  • up to 100% of the NLTF approved costs.
