The National Land Transport Fund (NLTF) is a primary source of funding for New Zealand's land transport system. The fund covers national and local roads, the Road Policing Programme, public transport and other activities such as research and sector training.
To be eligible for funding from the NLTF, transport activities must contribute to the achievement of government transport strategies and policies. These strategies and policies shape the criteria we use to assess activities for inclusion in the National Land Transport Programme.
