Vehicle Equipment Amendment (Immobilisers)
(Rule 32017/3)
Proposed amendment to the Vehicle Equipment Rule to provide for the compulsory fitting of vehicle immobilisers in all newly registered vehicles.

Vehicle Equipment Amendment (Noise)
(Rule 37017/3)

This Rule will make amendments to the recently signed Rule on noise to lower the drive-by noise limits for New Zealand that apply to vehicles at their time of entry into the fleet to reflect the limits in other jurisdictions, and make other changes to restrict noise emissions.

Traffic Control Devices Amendment
(Rule 54002/2)
To implement Road Safety 2010 safety intervention recommendations including results from trials, such as road markings before pedestrian crossings, and requirements for the placement of signs and the frequency for changing speed limits.

Vehicle Lighting Amendment
(Rule 32005/5)
This proposed Rule would amend restrictions relating to head lamps, marker lamps, indicator lights on forklifts, stop lamps and bring the principal Rule into line with the Vehicle Standards Compliance Rule and overseas standards. Yellow phase - rule being drafted for public consultation.
Omnibus Amendment 2010
(Rule 10006)
This rule includes fairly straight-forward and non-contentious amendments to existing Rules. Blue phase - policy in development stages.
Driver Licensing Amendment
(Rule 91001/7)
This new Rule will implement safety interventions recommendations in the Road Safety 2010 strategy, including strengthening the requirements relating to young and novice drivers.  Other proposed changes relate to proof of identity, clarifying the treatment of international driver licences, the form of the licence and licence classes.
