These NZ Transport Agency standard drawings have been developed in response to particular site constraints to assist designers in achieving safe road safety barrier designs. Most relate to information found in an associated technical memorandum or specification.

Buried-in-backslope terminal (RSB-1) - February 2012

This standard drawing shows details of the accepted buried-in-backslope end terminal treatment as described in technical memorandum TM2004.

Curved guardrail installations (RSB-2 and RSB-2A) - October 2013

These standard drawings show details of the accepted curved rail terminal and curved guardrail treatments for radii ≤25m, as described in technical memorandum TM2008.

M23 terminal grading plan (RSB-3) - February 2012

This standard drawing shows details of the accepted grading profile for guardrail terminals accepted in NZ Transport Agency Specification M23.

Nested guardrail detail (RSB-4) - February 2012

This standard drawing shows details of the accepted nested guardrail configurations for semi-rigid guardrail as described in Technical memorandum TM2003.

TL-4 transition detail (RSB-5) - November 2014

This standard drawing shows details of the accepted W-Beam to rigid barrier transition for use on state highways.

Wire rope safety barrier (WRSB) transitions (RSB-7) - November 2014

These standard drawings show details of the accepted configurations for transitions from wire rope safety barrier (WRSB) to semi-rigid guardrail and rigid safety barrier systems as described in Technical memorandum TM2013.
