Publicly notified consultations are a key way we gather feedback to help shape and inform our work.
Feedback or submission received in consultations will be deemed public information and may be published afterwards, but we will not publish information that identifies an individual person. As a government agency, we also have to respond to Official Information Act requests.

The draft guidance for NZTA‘s Decision-led approach to project development was published on 9 September 2025. We’re inviting feedback from consultants who’ve already piloted the approach on recent investment cases for infrastructure projects so that we can further refine the document before we publish the final guidance.

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is seeking feedback on the draft Planning Policy Manual - Digital Advertising Billboards and Road Safety which focuses on our policy and approach on land use applications for digital billboards visible from state highways.

We’re consulting on a proposal to set a lower speed limit of 60km/h on a 0.85km section of SH1 at Motutere currently set at 100km/h after strong community feedback.

We’re proposing to install an Intersection Speed Zone where State Highway 6 and Ellis Street in Brightwater meet. This would introduce a variable speed limit of 60km/h on the state highway that would operate when people use the intersection. At all other times, the speed limit would remain 80km/h.

To support SH26A Morrinsville Road’s transfer to a local road, speed limits are under review. The proposal is to reduce speed limits from 80km/h to 50km/h from existing 80km/h sign to northeast of Silverdale Road and from there 80km/h to 70km/h to southwest of Ruakura roundabout.
