NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) seeks feedback on the draft Digital Advertising Billboards and Road Safety guidance. This sets out NZTA policy on third-party digital advertising billboards where these are within the state highway road reserve or visible from the state highway.
The document incorporates reference to current research on issues relating to digital billboards and road safety and sets out NZTA’s policy on digital advertising billboard location, installation and operation.
Once finalised, this document will be part of NZTA’s Planning Policy Manual (PPM), which guides integrated planning and development of the state highway network. The PPM serves as a reference for landowners, developers, planners, engineers, and consultants involved in activities that may affect or be affected by the state highway system.
