Current heavy vehicle permit application fees

You may apply for a single prime mover unit and up to 10 trailers.

All vehicles must meet the dimension requirements in the pro-forma diagram you upload below. 

The maximum width of combination and load is 2.55m.

You will also require an HPMV permit to exceed length limits for each of the vehicle combinations you're applying for. If you already have this permit for any of the vehicle combinations, you will not have to reapply. 

An HPMV permit to exceed length limits will be issued with your 50MAX permit to exceed mass limits.

Notes:

• The above vehicle combinations are 50MAX ready proforma. You need to complete the relevant proforma diagram for the vehicle combinations you're applying for and attach it to this application form.
  You only need to complete and submit one 50MAX ready proforma diagram with your application, as all trailers must be identical units. 
  50Max proforma designs
• Each of the above vehicle combinations requires a 50MAX vehicle combination attribute checksheet that has been certified by a Waka Kotahi-appointed certifier. Please attach a copy of these to this application form.
• To operate this vehicle combination legally, you must have a current, valid HPMV permit to exceed length limits for the vehicle combinations.
• You must load the vehicle combination, at all times, according to the general mass, class one mass limits on individual axles, axle sets and combinations of axles as prescribed by the Vehicle Dimension and Mass Rule Schedule 3, Part 1, Tables 1.1A to 1.5. 
• Compliance with the above point may mean, for some loads, you will be unable to load to the maximum gross mass you are permitted to load up to.
• The above vehicle combination cannot operate with a gross mass exceeding 46 tonnes across any structure or roads restricted under the conditions of the permit.
• The above vehicle combination cannot operate on any Local Authority road network restricted under the conditions of the permit.
• If you wish to operate the vehicle combination on any Local Authority road network that is restricted under the conditions of the permit, you must apply to the Local Road Controlling Authority for a HPMV permit to exceed mass limits and are legally bound to operate the vehicle combination under the terms and conditions of their permit within the boundary of their area of authority.
• You cannot operate the vehicle combination with a gross mass exceeding 46 tonnes in any region other than what has been permitted.
