Motor Vehicle Register information
The Land Transport Act 1998 allows Waka Kotahi to authorise third parties to access details in the Motor Vehicle Register. You can choose to opt-out of this (though some authorised users will still have access under certain conditions).
The Electoral Commission has access to personal information in the Motor Vehicle Register to identify unenrolled people who are qualified to vote, and to update addresses of those already on the roll.
