Apply for a replacement using a verified RealMe identity
If you're currently in New Zealand, and you have a verified RealMe identity, you can apply online for a replacement driver licence.
If you don't have a verified RealMe identity, you can make a replacement driver licence application at a driver licensing agent.

You can call us on +64 6 953 6270 Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm, New Zealand time. You'll need to pay the fee of $38.20 by Visa or MasterCard debit or credit card.
We'll give you a reference number to include with this form. You won't be able to complete the application without a reference number.

The information requested is required to process an application for a driver licence. Collecting this information is required by Part 3 of the Land Transport (Driver Licensing) Rule 1999. Some of the particulars you provide will become part of the Driver Licence Register. Collection, dissemination and release of this information is authorised by the Land Transport Act 1998 and Part 7 of the Privacy Act 2020.
