Save One More Life Hackathon was a collaborative event bringing New Zealanders together at Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency’s innovation zone in Auckland. The event ran over 48 hours, from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 March 2018.

In 2017, 379 people died on our roads, and every one of those lives lost is a tragedy. Waka Kotahi are always looking for new ways to make our roads safer and improve driver behaviour.

We invited problem solvers, creatives, developers – from back-end/front-end/full stack – analysts, to behavioural experts and experience designers who want to make a difference.

The event saw local and international suppliers bringing the latest technology and insights for participants to reimagine how technology can make a meaningful difference to road safety on New Zealand roads.
