LED Safety Exclusion Zone

12 LED Exclusion Zone Line

Overview

A surfacing or pavement renewal activity at night is a dynamic environment, with health and safety hazards due to moving plants and machinery. An safety exclusion zone projected to the ground minimises this risk.

Problem/Opportunity

Complacency sometimes results in safety exclusion zones around pavement millers, rollers and bobcats being not adhered to.

Solution

Working together with Hella R&D, LED strip lights were purchased to project a clear safety zone in red light on the floor/ground around the miller and bobcat.

Estimated results and savings

This technology, in conjunction with the daily pre-start safety discussions around the plant, provides site personnel clear visual guides as to where they should not enter during site activity, improving worker safety.
