The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that all lanes on State Highway 1 on the North Shore have reopened.
The motorway was closed for just over an hour this afternoon after a serious crash blocked all north-bound lanes of the Northern Motorway, just after the Onewa Road off ramp.
There is significant congestion with traffic backed up on SH1. The Transport Agency advises motorists there will be delays and to avoid the area if possible.
An alternative way north is to go via the Western Ring Route on SH16 and SH18, but there is also congestion on SH16 from the Waterview Tunnel to Lincoln Road.
The mobile barrier on the Auckland Harbour Bridge is being moved early to provide 5 northbound lanes and improve traffic flows.
