The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists travelling on State Highway 2 (SH2) between Tauranga and Papamoa to expect delays this week as contractors continue work on the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road.

Speed restrictions of 50km/h and traffic management including lane closures will be in place between the Te Maunga roundabout and Mangatawa interchange from today.

Delays of approximately five minutes are possible and motorists are urged to allow extra time when travelling on this route.

Wednesday April 22 (between 9.00am and 5.00pm)
The westbound lanes (heading to Tauranga) will be reduced to one lane and moved to one side.  A 50km/h temporary speed restriction will be in place.

Thursday April 23 (between 6.00am and 5.00pm)
To allow road surfacing works to be undertaken, the SH2 slip lane at the Te Maunga roundabout will be closed.  All traffic will be diverted via the roundabout.

During this time, the eastbound lanes (heading to Te Puke) will be reduced to one lane and moved to one side.  A 50km/h temporary speed restriction will be in place.
