Tue 29 June 2021, 2.26pm update

This work, which had been scheduled to take place overnight tonight, will now take place tomorrow night (6pm Wednesday 30 June to 6am Thursday 1 July) due to the weather. All other details remain the same.

To reduce impact on motorists, work is scheduled to take place between 6pm Tuesday night and 6am Wednesday morning.

Only Tauriko-bound traffic will be affected. A detour will be in place via State Highway 2, Moffatt Road and Cambridge Road. The rest of the toll road will operate as normal.

Motorists are asked to plan ahead and take extra care.

These works are part of the Waka Kotahi road maintenance programme to repair and reseal state highways across the Bay of Plenty to ensure the safety and resilience of the transport network.

In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, work may be postponed. Visit the interactive Waka Kotahi Journey Planner website ( link)) for the latest information on roadworks, traffic, road closures and detours to help plan your trip.

Waka Kotahi thanks motorists for their patience.
