Detour planned during one night closure for part of HB Expressway

|

State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway between Evenden Road and Pākōwhai Road will be closed overnight tonight (Thursday 9 January), from 8pm to 5am.

During the closure, crews will be making urgent flexible barrier repairs.

A signposted detour will be in place during this closure, for all traffic, including heavy vehicles. Traffic will be detoured down Pākōwhai Road and Evenden Road. The detour will be in reverse for northbound vehicles.

Please expect delays of 5 minutes.

Emergency services and OD loads with permits will be escorted through the closure if required.

This work is weather dependent and may be postponed.

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) thanks all road users for their cooperation in taking the detour, and by carrying out the work over one night, hopes to minimise disruption to travellers.
