Detours in place on SH1 between Rangiriri and Ohinewai from March 31

|

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that the State Highway 1 southbound lanes between Rangiriri and Ohinewai will be closed to traffic from 8pm on Tuesday 31 March until 6am the following day.

Motorists will be detoured across the Glen Murray Bridge and Te Ohaki Road, re-joining State Highway 1 via the Tainui Road Bridge in Huntly. The detour will add approximately five to 10 minutes to regular travel time.

The closure is to allow contractors to install temporary concrete barriers on the northbound shoulder at Rangiriri, as work on the Waikato Expressway continues.
The work is weather dependent and will be postponed if necessary.

The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and understanding while the detour is in place.
