Further safety improvement work at the Nevis Bluff

|

Another round of safety improvement work, starts on Monday 24 November 2014 at the Nevis Bluff above State Highway 6 about half way between Cromwell and Queenstown.

The NZ Transport Agency says the work is part of on-going safety and monitoring of the Nevis Bluff, and involves abseil inspection, rock bolt stabilisation, rock scaling and helicopter sluicing to remove loose debris.

Because road user safety is paramount while this work is carried out, some hold ups for motorists are unavoidable.

Delays of up to 10 minutes can be expected on weekdays between 8:00am and 5:00pm from Monday 24 November 2014 through to Friday 12 December 2014, subject to weather conditions.

The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience while this important safety work is carried out.

Regular work updates will be available by calling 0800 44 44 49 or at the NZ Transport Agency highway information website at www.highwayinfo.govt.nz(external link).
