Further safety improvement work on State Highway 6 at theNevis Bluff

|

The NZTA will carry out further safety improvement work early next week at the Nevis Bluff above State Highway 6 about half way between Cromwell and Queenstown.

NZTA Project Manager John Jarvis says the work starting on Monday 29 November is part of on-going safety and monitoring of the Nevis Bluff and includes abseil inspections and helicopter sluicing to remove any loose debris.  The safety of road users is paramount throughout this project, so some delays for motorists are unavoidable.

Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes between 8:00am and 5:00pm from Monday 29 November to Saturday 4 December, provided the weather is suitable for this work to be carried out. The NZTA regrets any inconvenience these delays may cause Mr Jarvis said.

Regular updates on the status of this section of highway will be provided to motorists and will also be available on the NZTA’s Highway Info website at www.highwayinfo.govt.nz(external link).
