Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island:
- In Wellington and the Hutt Valley, State Highway 1 in Kilbirnie has ongoing night closures while traffic signals are replaced and intersections are worked on, and night closures are planned next week for works on State Highway 2 near Petone
- Rockfall protection work starts next week on State Highway 59 north of Pukerua Bay
- There will be a road closure between next Friday night on State Highway in Greytown for Cruise Martinborough. The highway will be closed between Wood Street/Church Street and Jellicoe Street/Kuratawhiti Street from 7 pm to 9 pm.
- Those who travel regularly between Wellington and Wairarapa can expect more traffic on State Highway 2 and the Remutaka Hill, with a KiwiRail maintenance closure planned for the Wairarapa Line. The line is closed until 10 February 2025.
Top of the South Island:
- Marlborough drivers can expect work later this month and into February that will affect their travel
- In Nelson, resurfacing work begins this Sunday on State Highway 6 Annesbrook Drive, and similar work is planned for State Highway 6 QE2 Drive at the end of the month.
- Chip sealing is also planned for multiple locations on State Highway 65 from Tuesday to Friday. People travelling between Murchison and Springs Junction can expect some delays and should allow extra time for their journeys.Similar work is also planned on State Highway 6 at Newton River and Little Deep Creek
