Luggate (Red) Bridge repair works nearly over in Queenstown Lakes District, daytime closures next week

The final stage of the current deck repairs to the single lane Luggate (Red) Bridge on SH8A between Wanaka and Tarras will resume next week - Tuesday, 14 August.

To carry out the remaining works safely in daylight, and to remove the scaffolding, the bridge will be closed from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday, 14 August and Wednesday, 15 August.

  • The works are weather dependant so Thursday 16 August is reserved as a contingency day.
  • Detours will be in place via Camp Hill Road.
  • Drivers will be re-directed with temporary detour signage.

The Transport Agency thanks everyone for their patience and for taking care during the works in recent weeks.
