Maintenance work on SH1 Kamo Bypass this weekend

|

The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to plan ahead to avoid delays through the Kamo Bypass on SH1 through Whangarei this weekend.

The bypass will be closed from 7pm Friday 18 September until 6pm Saturday 19 September and lanes closures Sunday from 7am to 6pm while important maintenance work is carried out.

Contractors will be removing and tidying vegetation in the central road island and along the side of the State Highway.

Detours will be in place along Kamo Road for SH1 heading north and south and via Puna Rere Drive through William Jones and Jack St. Heavy vehicles will be escorted through the site.

The NZ Transport Agency’s Network Performance Manager, Tim Crow says SH1 is an important freight and transport link for Northland and everything will be done to ensure a minimum of inconvenience for drivers.
