National bike challenge returns in February

|

The NZ Transport Agency has partnered with Love to Ride to bring back the Aotearoa Bike Challenge for its third year, and it takes place in February 2019.

Last year’s Challenge saw more than 14,000 people take part across the country.

The Aotearoa Bike Challenge is a free national workplace cycling challenge, and part of the Government’s commitment to making cycling a safer and more attractive transport choice for New Zealanders.

For the 2019 Challenge, businesses and organisations from across New Zealand are encouraged to take part by setting up teams and getting their colleagues involved. There are lots of fantastic prizes on offer to tempt teams to climb the leader board.

The Challenge is a great way to get fitter, healthier and be kinder to the environment. All it takes to participate is one 10-minute trip by bike, and with an updated points-based system this year riders can also be rewarded by simply encouraging colleagues to ride a bike during February.
