Overnight lane closures for Bay Link project Wed, Thu

|

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises that night works will be carried out on the Bay Link project site this Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 May.

Stone columns will be tested near Te Maunga roundabout, where State Highway 2 meets State Highway 29A. Work is scheduled to take place overnight between 8pm and 5am to minimise disruption to motorists.

There will be lane closures in place on SH2, SH29A and Truman Lane, with a temporary 50km/h speed limit in place. Road users are advised to travel with caution through the project site, reduce speed and follow the directions of road workers and signage.

This work is expected to generate minimal noise and disruption for local residents.

In the event of unsuitable weather or other unforeseen circumstances, work will be carried out on the next suitable night/s. Motorists are encouraged to visit journeys.nzta.govt.nz(external link) for up to date information on road works, traffic, detours and delays.

At Alert Level 2, significantly more people will be using their cars and public transport. It’s important to plan ahead and allow more time for your journeys. Remember to be kind to others, as we all get used to travelling at Alert Level 2.

Waka Kotahi thanks road users and local residents for their patience.
