Overnight motorway closures in Auckland

The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements and maintenance. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed on or before the contingency date.

Northern motorway (SH1)

  • Northbound motorway lanes between Onewa Road off-ramp and Onewa Road on-ramp 14 – 15 December
  • Southbound motorway lanes between Northcote Road off-ramp and Onewa Road on-ramp 14 December
  • Esmonde Road southbound off-ramp 14 December
  • Northcote Road southbound on-ramp 14 December
  • Northcote Road southbound off-ramp 16 December
  • Greville Road southbound off-ramp 16 December
  • Greville Road southbound on-ramp 14 – 15 December
  • Southbound motorway lanes between Silverdale off-ramp and Oteha Valley Road on-ramp 14 – 15 December
  • Silverdale southbound on-ramp 14 – 15 December

Contingency: 18 December

Auckland Harbour Bridge (SH1)

  • Curran Street on-ramp and Auckland Harbour Bridge lanes one and two northbound 14 – 18 December (approx. 7pm – 5.30am)

Northwestern motorway (SH16)

  • Great North Road eastbound on-ramp 14 December
  • Newton Road westbound on-ramp 14 December

Contingency: 18 December

State Highwat 16 and 18

  • All lanes between Royal Road, Oreil Avenue and Don Buck Road 14 and 18 December

Southwestern motorway (SH20)

  • Northbound motorway lanes between Queenstown Road off-ramp and Hillsborough Road 14 December (7pm – 5am)
  • Coronation Road northbound on-ramp 14 – 15 December
  • All motorway lanes between Rimu Road on-ramp and Walmsley Road off-ramp 14 – 15 December

Contingency: 16 December
