The NZ Transport Agency advises that State Highway 33 at Paengaroa is closed to all traffic after a serious crash south of Partridge Lane.
The road is expected to be closed till 3.00pm or longer and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
Light traffic is being diverted around the crash site via Old Coach Road, Roydon Downs Road and Allports Road.
Heavy vehicles are being stacked and then escorted through the site periodically under stop/go traffic management. Expect lengthy delays.
