All lanes on State Highway 16 north of Kumeu have re-opened and the NZ Transport Agency says congestion is now easing.

Both lanes were closed for several hours after two trucks collided just before 8am this morning.

60 litres of diesel was spilled onto the road and contractors and emergency services have now cleaned the site.

The NZ Transport Agency thanks drivers for their patience while the crash was cleared and the area was made safe again.
