SH20 Manukau Harbour Crossing closures

Weather permitting, closures will take place on the Southwestern Motorway (SH20) and surrounding roads in the next week.

The NZ Transport Agency wishes to advise that, weather permitting, the following closures will take place on the Southwestern Motorway (SH20) and surrounding roads, in the following week.

Closures will be in place for one or two nights between Sunday 28 September and Friday 3 October (unless otherwise stated). Ramps will remain open where required for detour routes.

Temporary traffic management will start on the northern (Onehunga) side of SH20 Mangere Bridge between the Queenstown Road bridge and Beachcroft Avenue footbridge, and adjacent to Gloucester Park.

  • Rimu Road northbound on-ramp closed from 7pm on Sunday 28 September until 5am Monday 29 September for beam placement. Detour via Coronation Road to Coronation Road northbound on-ramp. Contingency date is Monday 29 September.
  • Rimu Road eastbound between Coronation Road roundabout and Rimu Road on-ramp closed from 7pm on Sunday 28 September until 5am Monday 29 September for beam placement. Detour via Coronation Road to Coronation Road on-ramp. Contingency date is Monday 29 September.
  • Rimu Road/Mahunga Drive westbound between Miro Road and Coronation Road roundabout closed from 7pm on Sunday 28 September until 5am Monday 29 September for beam placement. Detour via Mahunga Drive to Walmsley Road and Coronation Road. Contingency date is Monday 29 September.
  • Coronation Road northbound on-ramp closed from 9pm until 5am for linemarking and barrier movement. Detour via Coronation Road to Rimu Road northbound on-ramp.

If the contingency dates are required then all scheduled work will be reviewed to ensure no two consecutive ramps are closed at the same time

Motorists are advised to follow the signposted detour routes.
