SH4 closure for slip drainage work

|

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that State Highway 4 will be closed tomorrow evening to allow drainage improvement works to be carried out.

The work will help to slow down erosion at a slip site. The closure will begin at 7pm and is expected to be completed by midnight.

Regional highways manager David McGonigal says the work is a ‘stitch in time’ job that will help to protect the road from being nibbled away by the slip, which is situated below the road.

Motorists will be informed of the closure by electronic signage and there will manned road blocks at Wanganui and Raetihi. The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and understanding.
