SH5 east of Tirau closed following serious crashs

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that State Highway Tapapa (east of Tirau) is CLOSED due to a serious crash.

Emergency services are at the scene and people are urged to avoid the area if possible.

A detour via State Highway 28 and State Highway 1 is in place and will add around 10 minutes to regular travel time.
