Short delays expected on SH3 this month

|

State Highway 3 (SH3) travellers may experience short delays while important construction work is carried out on an area south of Piopio, from Monday July 28.

The NZ Transport Agency says a 150-metre stretch of SH3 will be down to one lane for three weeks from Monday, with manual stop/go control operating as work continues on a retaining wall below the road at Mangaotaki.

Initial work on the site was done in June when it was also restricted to a single lane.

A 30km/h speed restriction will be in place at the site, close to the Mangaotaki rest area.

The manual stop/go will be in place during working hours with both lanes open to traffic at all other times.
The Transport Agency apologies for any inconvenience and thanks motorists for their patience while the work is carried out.
