Significant delays on State Highway 2 expected, south of Katikati, Morton Road

|

Significant delays are expected on State Highway 2 (SH2) between Waihī to Ōmokoroa at the Morton Road roundabout site this Wednesday 25 January. Drivers should avoid travelling this route if possible, or anticipate a longer journey.

Stop/Go traffic management will be in place at SH2 / Morton Road and is required while crews undertake chipsealing and concrete work. This is expected to take most of the day, weather permitting, and is unable to be completed at night.

The crew will be monitoring queues and ensuring both lanes are open when breaks allow.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency thanks road users for their understanding while these important works take place.

The above information is accurate at the time of release. Many of the above works are dependent on a number of factors, particularly weather, and may be postponed at short notice. For up-to-date information on road works, traffic, detours and delays, motorists are encouraged to visit the Waka Kotahi Journey Planner website.
