State Highway 3 reduced to single lane at Urenui following a slip

|

Waka Kotahi is advising that SH3 at Urenui remains reduced to a single lane under stop/go traffic management, due to a large slip north of Avenue Road.

The slip occurred after 10pm last night (Monday 19 September), initially closing the road in both directions. Crews worked through the night to clear one lane of debris, and the road was re-opened with single lane access at the slip site just after 3.30am.

No vehicles were damaged as a result of the slip.

The road will remain under stop/go traffic management until both lanes can be re-opened in the coming days.

Drivers are advised to take extra care when travelling through the area, slow down and comply with the traffic management controls in place.

Delays of five to ten minutes are expected. Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience and understanding while the work to fully re-open the road is carried out.
