State Highway 58 diversion


The NZ Transport Agency advises that sections of State Highway 58 will be closed from Monday 6 August to Weds 8 August between 9.30am and 2.30pm for routine maintenance.

While the maintenance takes place, one area of the State Highway section affected will be closed and traffic will be diverted along alternative routes, which will be sign posted.

The proposed works will be completed in two stages.

1. Postgate Drive to James Cook Drive (Stage 1)

On Monday 6 and Tuesday the 7 August 2012 this section of road will be closed for various maintenance repairs.

2. James Cook Drive to Joesph Banks Drive (stage 2)

On Wednesday 8th of August 2012 this section of road will be closed for various maintenance repairs.

What do I need to do?

Please make sure vehicles are not parked on the highway on the days the work is to occur.

Traffic management staff will be on site and at each end of the works to assist residents who need access to and from their properties if they live directly off SH58.

What is the NZTA doing?

The surface water channel will be cleared, roadside furniture (e.g. road markers, bollards and fences) will be repaired or replaced and street lighting will be maintained.
