Stretch of SH30 (King Country) to close for bridge repairs in October

|

The NZ Transport Agency advises King Country motorists that a section of State Highway 30 - the road from Te Kuiti to Benneydale- will be closed for up to a week in October.

The closure will be in place from Monday October 5 to Sunday October 11, to allow contractors to carry out maintenance and repairs on the Mokau River Bridge on SH30.

An extensive detour will be in place:  North-bound on Kopaki Road to SH4 and SH3 to Te Kuiti and sound-bound in reverse. (See image below).

The detour is 12km longer from Kopaki rail overbridge to Te Kuiti than the direct SH30 route and will add an additional 15 minutes to regular travel time.

Access to all properties on SH30 will be available from the north and south as far as the bridge.

Fine weather and good progress may see the road open earlier than planned.

The Transport Agency apologies for any inconvenience caused and thanks motorists for their patience during the works.
