WoF alert – Jet Tyres and Alignment and vehicle inspector Anderson Lee suspended from issuing WoFs

The NZ Transport Agency has immediately suspended Auckland’s Jet Tyres and Alignment as an Inspecting Organisation.

The Auckland based business’ sole vehicle inspector Anderson Lee also been immediately suspended as a vehicle inspector.

The suspension notices were served on Friday afternoon (November 30).

This follows concerns about his failure to check some aspects of vehicles during Warrant of Fitness (WoF) assessments, such as lights, brakes, steering, tyres, exhaust systems and seatbelts. NZTA also found that an unauthorised person was carrying out WOF inspections on behalf of Mr Lee.

We are unaware of specific concerns relating to individual vehicles however, due to the poor quality of Mr Lee’s inspections there is a possibility that some vehicles may have been incorrectly passed. For this reason we strongly encourage people who have a current WoF from Jet Tyres and Alignment to get their vehicle rechecked.

The NZ Transport Agency will contact all 993 affected vehicle owners individually as soon as possible to advise them on recheck options. Vouchers will be provided.

There will be no further comment on this alert.
