Work to begin on State Highway 1 through Tokoroa

|

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is advising motorists that work will begin this Sunday on State Highway 1 through Tokoroa.

Works will start early Sunday March 17 at 5am and are expected to be complete by midday. Traffic management will be in place during the works, and will remain in place for 48 hours.

This work will include sealing and covering up the ‘ghost lines’ along State Highway 1 through Tokoroa.

There will be a temporary speed reduction zone and the work is weather dependant.

NZTA and Council will continue to liaise closely on this stretch of road over winter and spring until the road is rehabilitated in summer.

There will be places were the new seal will be opened again to install stormwater pipes.

This work will mean the majority of the old lane road markings will be completely covered, that will help eliminate the confusion experienced by some road users.

We thank road users for their patience during this time.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey this summer. Keep up to date with:
