Works now complete on Te Rapa Section

|

Road works on the Te Rapa Section of the Waikato Expressway are now complete with no further diversions or speed restrictions in place.

The second coat of chip seal was laid on the section last week.

The NZ Transport Agency, Waikato Expressway Principal Project Manager Richard Young says the section has now been swept and road marked.

"Speed restrictions and diversions which were in place last week have been lifted but motorists should still be aware of any loose chips which may still be on the surface as the seal settles."

Mr Young says the sealing work carried out last week is part of the planned stages to finish the road surface. The second coat is applied before the first winter to ensure the road is water proof before the final seal is applied.

"We’d like to thank motorists again for their patience while this work has been undertaken," Mr Young says.

The NZTA’s website is regularly updated with information on significant road works locations; and also information on other road closures and detours as they come to hand - go to www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic.

This information is also available by phoning the NZTA’s freephone on 0800 4HIGHWAYS (0800 44 44 49), which can also be used to report any significant road issues or hazards which people Enter text here.
