Reminder: From Monday (6 January), a short section of the northbound lane on Cambridge Road, from the SH29 intersection to 563 Cambridge Road, will be closed to complete the narrower section of sheet piling ahead of retaining wall works, as part of the upgrade of the SH29/Cambridge Road intersection.
People driving through or into Milton, in South Otago, will face detours from Monday, 6 January. NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) crews are repaving the highway, part of SH1, requiring traffic management and some detours off Union St for around a month.
A fatality car crash before 1 pm today, north of Mangaweka on SH1, will involve two hours or more detour for SH1 road users through the Manawatū-Whanganui region, says NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
While the elves may be working right up until midnight on Christmas Eve, works across the region’s roads will mostly have finished at midday today Friday 20 December, allowing road users an undisturbed run to their holiday destination.
