The NZ Transport Agency is advising Auckland motorists to plan ahead and check for the latest travel information online before travelling this weekend with plans to close State Highway 20 for up to 12 hours.

Changes to New Zealand’s Graduated Driver Licensing System aimed at improving the safety of novice drivers and motorcyclists are set to come into force next week, including the introduction of a five-year time limit on new learner and restricted car and motorcycling licences.

Another round of safety improvement work, starts on Monday 24 November 2014 at the Nevis Bluff above State Highway 6 about half way between Cromwell and Queenstown.
