The NZ Transport Agency has introduced a new driver licensing option aimed at improving the safety of motorcyclists. On 1 March 2014, the Agency introduced an optional competency-based training and assessment (CBTA) licensing regime for motorcyclists.
Motorists planning to travel through State Highway 1 at Rangiriri on Wednesday and Thursday nights are advised that due to the on-going construction of the Rangiriri section of the Waikato Expressway, the highway will be reduced to a single lane and will be under stop/go manual traffic management, says the NZ Transport Agency.
The NZ Transport Agency has confirmed the construction phase of the new Hairini underpass will start late this year. This comes after funding was confirmed by the agency which allows the next phase of the project to progress to detailed design and construction.
