Roadside rubbish dumpers are the target of a new Waka Kotahi campaign in Auckland which has seen a camera installed on a motorway and billboards erected to try and curb the amount of litter being dropped along the transport network.
Motorists are being advised to plan for daytime closures on Pahiatua Track starting on Monday 8 November while Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency undertakes essential maintenance work on the road.
To try and help protect the endangered seabird, the Westland petrel/tāiko, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency will again turn off highway lighting at night on a short section of State Highway 6 through Punakaiki this summer.
