Motorists driving between Katikati and Tauranga are being encouraged to drive safely and consider others as they make their journeys along this section of State Highway 2.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is urging drivers around Taranaki to be extra cautious on the roads over the next two days with a heavy rain warning and watch in place.
Work has now been confirmed to begin next month on the rebuild and reseal of a stretch of State Highway 3 at Burgess Park just south of New Plymouth.
The work is scheduled to begin on Monday 16 September and expected to run for approximately 8 weeks.
A cyclone-damaged stretch of State Highway 2 (SH2) at Otoko Hill is being transformed, with work to stabilise the hillside and make the area more flood resilient ramping up over the coming months.
The project to resurface State Highway 1C, the Te Rapa section of the Waikato Expressway, is almost complete with work wrapping up on the four-laned stetch of the road over the next 10 days.
