The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that its road repair and maintenance work on State Highway 1 through the Waipu Bypass is progressing well and is now expected to finish ahead of schedule well before Christmas.
The NZ Transport Agency has confirmed that High Productivity Motor Vehicles (HPMVs) and overweight vehicles/loads (with a maximum height of 4.25m) which hold the relevant permits will be able to travel on State Highway 1 (SH1) between Picton and Christchurch from 15 December when the road reopens.
The NZ Transport Agency is inviting the community to have their say on possible ways to improve road safety in Mid Canterbury on State Highway 1, Rakaia to Ashburton. (Officially the project starts at the Selwyn River Bridge, north of Dunsandel.)
Both lanes of the Rimutaka Hill Road, SH2 have been reopened to all traffic, including over-dimension loads, following the substantive completion of two safety improvement projects on the Featherston side of the hill.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday 8 December 2017. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.
